Our region, le "Périgord" is sunny the most of time in summer and beyond. Situated between Sarlat and Bergerac the area surrounding "Le gîte des Martys" is renowned for great wines such as Pécharmant and Monbazillac and the local « gastronomie » is legendary. The prehistoric valleys of the Dordogne and the Vézère (Lascaux, Les Eyzies...) are within easy reach. The countryside is littered with medieval castles and lovely old fortified towns called 'bastides' which are unspoilt and breathtakingly beautiful: Beaumont, Issigeac with its lovely market, Monpazier, Monflanquin... Of course, you can walk, fish, canoe, play golf and, if you have the energy, there is much more to discover... !
"Le gîte des Martys" is at 30km (about 35mins) South West from Bergerac Airport with low price flights from London Stansted, Bristol, Southampton, Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham and soon Leeds and Exeter.
This charming house is ideal for couple with children. It is about 150m² big. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious room with sofa-beds and a tennis table which give you some good time. You will appreciate quietness of the surroundings and the opportunity of explore all of them. It’s not a "Chambre d’hôte” but you might have available, if you wish, some documentations and advices about the region and its treasures (particularly “la Vallée de la Dordogne” and its exceptional sites). Our home is fully restored and trades are rather reasonable.
